LAKE & EMERALD PUBLICATIONS

Founded in 1974, has been publishing poetry and metaphysical fiction for over five decades.

For most of our history we have been a publisher of poetry and chap books, but expanded our catalog in the twenty-first century to include novels with visionary or metaphysical elements and some nonfiction.

We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts of any type and they will not be returned. We are currently closed for new submissions.

Are those cherubs in her hair whispering to her or just reading over her shoulder?
The woman on the right accompanied a poem in one of Lake & Emerald’s first books. She has since become part of our identity. The original illustration graced a bookplate created by Harold Nelson for his sister, Fanny. It appeared in the Art Nouveau magazineThe Studio, Special Winter issue in 1898.
